Job Description:

Major Responsibilities:

• Actively participate in sterilizing all medical equipment in the hospital.
• Contribute to the management of mass casualty and emergency cases, including triage, dressing wounds, administering injections, performing ECGs, and applying catheters for patients.
• Collaborate with doctors in critical cases, including participating in surgeries and assisting in emergency and other necessary situations.
• Administer prescribed medications following standard protocols.
• Regularly measure children under five years old to identify cases of malnutrition.
• Perform duties responsibly in OPD, IPD, and on-call services as per the job description.
• Provide health education to visitors according to the monthly schedule and the health education curriculum.
• Deliver consistent and careful care to patients based on job responsibilities.
• Actively contribute to the diagnosis, treatment, and control of communicable diseases such as tuberculosis, AIDS, and others.
• Support achieving P4P (Pay for Performance) indicators and implementing QQM (Quality and Quantity Monitoring).
• Participate effectively in the training and education of nurses.
• Implement all BPHS/EPHS policies, such as IPC (Infection Prevention and Control), waste management, uniform policy, rational use of medicines, patient referral, personnel and patient safety, GRM (Grievance Redress Mechanism), PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse), and OHS (Occupational Health and Safety).
• Carry out additional duties assigned by hospital management.

Responsibilities:

Before Examination:

1. Ensure rooms are clean.
2. Check the cleanliness of required materials.
3. Prepare materials for use during work (gloves, disinfectants, etc.).
4. Organize patient admission based on priority.
5. Provide health education to visitors as per the schedule.

During Examination:

1. Provide patients with complete information about their condition.
2. Clearly explain problems to patients and seek doctor’s assistance if needed.
3. Conduct accurate and proper dressing procedures under sterile conditions.
4. Schedule follow-up appointments if necessary.

After Examination:

1. Ensure tools and equipment are clean after each use.
2. Participate in various training sessions conducted by the Ministry of Health, UN agencies, or related organizations.

Sterilization:

1. Collect all contaminated hospital equipment.
2. Properly perform sterilization processes for medical tools.
3. Return sterilized materials to the hospital and ensure their use.

Job Requirements:

Skills, Qualifications, and Abilities:

• Graduate from a mid-level medical institute or health sciences institute in nursing.
• At least 1–2 years of experience as a nurse in BPHS/EPHS or other public/private health sectors.
• Kind and courteous personality.
• Physical and mental fitness to perform tasks.
• Active participation in in-service training for community health staff.
• Essential qualities: friendliness, patience, caution.
• Maintain discipline and order.
