About Us

The Aga Khan Health Services, Afghanistan (AKHS, A) was founded in 2003 as a component of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). It primarily delivers health care services on behalf of the Afghan government, including the Ministry of Public Health’s Basic Package of Health Services (BPHS) and Essential Package of Hospital Services (EPHS). AKHS, A stands out due to its extensive scale and scope, providing essential health services throughout the care continuum, from Community Health Workers (CHWs) to ISO-certified hospital facilities.
