Job Overview
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily morning meetings with staff and lead monthly staff meetings, draft minutes, and implement action plans.
- Manage health facility resources, including staff, equipment, medication, and fees.
- Perform ultrasound examinations for clients and maintain the ultrasound machine to prevent damage.
- Accurately diagnose patients, provide necessary advice, and prescribe medication based on diagnosis.
- Explain treatment plans clearly, allowing clients time to ask questions.
- Maintain detailed and accurate client records, ensuring all important information is captured.
- Conduct monthly clinical record audits and report findings to the Health Support and Research Team.
- Ensure all staff comply with infection prevention policies and follow best practices during service provision.
- Provide on-the-job training and supportive supervision to level-2 providers, maintaining a log of training activities.
- Conduct competency assessments of other providers and maintain strong relationships with the community.
- Ensure emergency medical kits are complete, medications are up-to-date, and equipment is functional.
- Follow FEFO inventory practices in the pharmacy and ensure stock cards meet MSI standards.
- Be prepared to handle emergencies and refer clients to advanced care facilities when necessary.
- Obtain and document client consent before procedures and ensure all incident reporting forms are up-to-date.
- Adhere to MSI guidelines for family planning services and provide client-centered counseling.
- Follow up on internal audits, client feedback, staff meetings, and supervision reports to implement necessary changes.
- Promote quality clinical governance and service delivery, maintaining high standards of immunization and infection prevention.
- Ensure ultrasound results do not disclose the gender of unborn babies.
- Handle any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Manage emergency medical situations according to MSI-A and MoPH standards.
- Monitor staff and client attendance and track daily income records.
- Assist in managing client flow and providing family planning consultations.
- Treat clients with respect, ensuring privacy and confidentiality.
- Facilitate client decision-making by explaining options clearly and encouraging questions.
- Keep the clinic team informed of relevant updates and represent the clinic at internal and external meetings.
- Ensure compliance with MSI-A and MoPH standards and uphold aseptic infection prevention measures.
- Organize meetings with community-based distributors (CBDs) and mobile clinics.
- Maintain an inclusive and discrimination-free workplace.

Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Gynecology and Ultrasound specialist who has passed the exit exam.
- Understanding of Afghanistan's healthcare system and medical market.
- High-level communication skills in Dari and English, with a professional demeanor.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across local and international teams.
Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience, preferably with national or international health-focused NGOs.
- Hands-on experience in ultrasound procedures.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and public speaking abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in team settings and meet client needs.
- Capable of working under deadlines in results-driven environments.
