Job Description:
- Understand and align with MSI-A's mission and vision.
- Ensure pharmacy standards are implemented and followed.
- Receive and stock medication supplies based on Goods Issue Notes (GINs) and Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs) provided by the Pharmacy Officer.
- Follow MSIA pharmacy procedures for stock in and stock out, maintaining accurate stock cards.
- Label medicines alphabetically or by pharmacological group.
- Apply the FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expired, First Out) systems in managing pharmacy stock.
- Keep accurate records of duplicate copies of documents (e.g., GRNs, monthly medicine usage reports, stock cards, medicine requests, lists of expired medicines).
- Distribute medication to clients as per prescriptions from MSI-A clinic doctors.
- Prepare and submit monthly medicine usage reports to relevant authorities for processing.
- Conduct monthly physical stock counts and manage inventory.
- Prepare requests for medicines, medical consumables, and equipment.
- Ensure clients are fully informed about medication use according to doctor’s prescriptions.
- Administer pharmacy stock and reorder drugs and medical equipment based on needs as directed by the Medical Stock Officer or clinic in charge, while checking for expiration dates.
- Maintain pharmacy stocks according to the MSI-A pharmacy supervision checklist.
- Notify the pharmacy focal point at the Head Office about expiring medical supplies three months in advance.
- Be prepared to work outside normal hours when required.
- Assist in keeping work areas neat, tidy, and organized.
- Strengthen the referral system and direct patients to medical staff or other clinic facilities as necessary.
Job Requirements:
- A degree in Pharm-D (Pharmacy Doctor) or a bachelor's degree in pharmacy.
- Understanding of Afghanistan’s health system context and the pharmaceutical market.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in Dari and English, with a professional and confident demeanor.
- Proven ability to work across teams, including collaboration with teams outside Afghanistan.
- At least two years of experience, preferably with national or international NGOs in health-related sectors.
