Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Strive to understand and meet monthly and yearly coverage targets and EPI (Expanded Program on Immunization) indicators.
  • Maintain an updated list of EPI and MCH (Maternal and Child Health) dropouts to follow up with them during outreach sessions.
  • Store, handle, and manage vaccines in accordance with Afghan N-EPI, UNICEF, and WHO protocols.
  • Safely dispose of contaminated waste to prevent exposure risks.
  • Deliver both fixed-site and outreach EPI services.
  • Consistently ensure proper cold chain management.
  • Respond promptly to any cold chain issues using available local resources, including transferring vaccines to the nearest health facility with a functioning cold chain system.
  • Immediately report any cold chain irregularities to the supervisor.
  • Provide patient education aimed at preventing dropouts and increasing immunization coverage.
  • Offer health education to clients during fixed-site and outreach sessions.
  • Identify and report any problems that hinder the delivery of services.
  • Submit accurate, clear, and timely monthly activity reports.

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Diploma in Nursing or Midwifery, with an EPI certification.

Experience:

  • At least 1-2 years of experience, particularly in vaccination services.
  • Strong command of Pashto and Dari languages.
  • Previous experience working in Roy-e Douab and Khuram Wa Sarbagh Districts, with a solid understanding of the local community, geography, and culture.
