Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Promote community-based nutrition and hygiene education in operational areas by engaging with local communities, including child-friendly and literacy-friendly approaches.
  • Conduct regular community meetings to inform and promote the clinic’s services to local residents.
  • Prevent absenteeism from the program and re-enroll defaulters from the OPD SAM program by conducting home visits.
  • Identify barriers to program access and report them to the Project Coordinator.
  • Coordinate project activities with health Shuras and community elders to ensure key stakeholders are involved.
  • Participate in and deliver training sessions as part of the project's capacity-building efforts.
  • Organize and lead awareness campaigns focusing on important health and nutrition topics.
  • Promote maternal and newborn health and nutrition, including attachment, stimulation, and well-being in malnutrition cases.
  • Meet with Psychosocial Officers weekly to exchange information, identify trends, and align messaging.
  • Manage Community Health Workers (CHWs) by developing monthly plans, providing on-the-job training, supervision, and reviewing their activities.
  • Ensure CHWs are well-equipped with necessary kits and have the knowledge to apply social behavioral communication strategies to improve community health practices.
  • Provide additional support as needed within the clinic.

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Completion of 12th grade, Nursing, or Midwifery degree.

Experience:

  • At least 2-3 years of relevant experience, particularly in health and nutrition fields.
  • Experience in public outreach, counseling, community mobilization, and coordination with stakeholders.
  • Strong command of Pashto and Dari languages.
  • Proven ability to work in a multi-ethnic team and handle diverse responsibilities.
  • Previous experience working in Roy-e Douab and Khuram Wa Sarbagh Districts, with familiarity with the local community, geography, and culture.
