Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist the health team, led by the project medical doctor, during field visits to the project areas to identify individuals with urgent health needs.
  • Record patient history, check vital signs, and accurately document patient details in the registration log and other project records.
  • Administer injections, fluids, and support the medical doctor in following appropriate health protocols for patient management.
  • Conduct health education sessions to raise awareness in the community about disease prevention and health promotion.
  • Educate project participants about the importance of preventing both communicable and non-communicable diseases.
  • Lead discussions during awareness sessions on hygiene, seasonal illnesses, COVID-19 prevention, and other standard virus prevention methods.
  • Distribute information, education, and communication (IEC) materials and behavior change communication (BCC) materials during health awareness sessions.
  • Refer complex or critical cases to the project medical doctor for further consultation and advice.
  • Identify vulnerable groups, such as women, people with disabilities, children, the elderly, and those with chronic illnesses, for targeted support.
  • Facilitate communication and coordinate health awareness initiatives with local faith leaders (Imams), community leaders, women leaders, and youth groups.
  • Create a safe space for beneficiaries to share their views and concerns through one-on-one meetings and interactive sessions, using IEC materials.
  • Collect and document feedback from participants during health sessions.
  • Capture high-quality photos, quotes, and case studies for project documentation.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned or needed.

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Degree or diploma in Nursing.

Experience:

  • At least 2-3 years of relevant experience, particularly in health and nutrition.
  • Experience in staff management, public outreach, counseling, community mobilization, and coordination with stakeholders.
  • Strong proficiency in Pashto and Dari.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-ethnic team and handle various responsibilities.
  • Prior experience working in the targeted areas, particularly Roy-e Douab and Khuram Wa Sarbagh Districts, with familiarity in the local community, geography, and culture.
