Job Description:

Coordinate and supervise Mental Health Services of the Hospital and report to the Head of the department on daily basis;

Provide high quality Psychology clinical services to patients, including consultation with Physicians in order to meet the medication needs of patients, as required.

Responsible for all day-to-day activities of the Hospital’s Mental Health Services including individual and group counseling, patient education, and support for other clinical staff in managing the mental health needs of patients.

Responsible for ensuring adequate coverage of all shifts in OPD and appropriate coverage for IPD patients as requested by IPD Doctors.

Responsible for endorsement of Service duty rosters, leave requests, medical certification for sick leaves, permissions, etc for Mental Health Services, and communicate same to the Hospital Manager.

At the request of Head of Department, attend Doctors’ daily Morning Meetings and weekly grand round on Thursdays. Arrange competence-based continuing education programs for Mental Health Services staff, participate in clinical audit, and participate in other clinical quality improvement activities.

Assist on Organizing and prepare annual performance appraisal of Mental Health Services Team and submit the same to the Head of the department

Participate in preparation of monthly activity reports for clinical departments.

Support cost recovery scheme and ambulance referral services with AKHS BHCs.

Support external relations of the hospital working as a team amongst clinical staff.

Reporting:

 

You are to report to the Head of mental health department who can also assign any other responsibilities to you in addition to the above prescribed duties.

Job Requirements:

Qualified as a Female MD from a recognized institution/college.

3 Years related work experience.

Knowledge of assessment/Evaluation techniques, monitoring and recording patients' progress.

Good knowledge of patient theory, techniques, and equipment.

Ability in counseling and problem solving.

Ability to perform patient services and operate equipment

Ability to communicate effectively.
