Job Description:
The responsibility includes examining, diagnosing, and treating patients in the Obstetrics and Gynecology department, including contagious diseases and others, in accordance with the standards set by the Ministry of Public Health.
- Based on examination and diagnosis, refer patients for treatment or to other more equipped centers if necessary.
- Ensure that patient case records are continuously updated, including diagnosis, medication recommendations, referrals to higher centers, and other advice, as part of the doctor’s responsibilities during examination.
- Complete forms for reports, statistics, diseases, and treatments as required by the Health Management Information System (HMIS).
- Cooperate closely with all departments in the district hospital to provide quality services, including outpatient services, inpatient services, operation theater, diagnostic departments, immunization services, pharmacy, etc.
- Perform specialized procedures for patients in need and train junior doctors on these procedures.
- Cooperate with all health center departments, including providing practical training to staff.
- Participate in training programs provided by the implementing organization.
- Have sufficient knowledge of essential health services for Afghanistan and implement them in practice.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor or relevant authorities.
- Work 24-hour shifts according to the hospital’s duty schedule.
- Submit monthly reports to the HMIS department head.
- Perform cesarean sections and other procedures related to obstetrics and gynecology.
Job Requirements:
- Graduation in Medicine with a specialized certificate in the related field.
- At least one year of work experience in the relevant department.
- Proficiency in reading and writing in Dari and other local languages.
- Good communication skills.
- Strong ethical qualities (patience, empathy, caution, and adherence to Islamic principles).
