Objective of the Role:
Providing quality healthcare services, family planning care, maternal and child health services to reduce maternal and child mortality in alignment with the National Strategy of the Ministry of Public Health. Conducting prenatal, delivery, and postnatal examinations and care, as well as family planning programs. Organizing health awareness and education sessions as per the schedule. Registering and documenting patients and visitors according to the National Health Information Management System guidelines. Preparing monthly reports for the relevant department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Providing continuous care to pregnant women based on scheduled times and ensuring safe deliveries in accordance with national reproductive health guidelines.
  • Delivering key tuberculosis messages to identify and detect suspected tuberculosis cases and refer them for sputum examination.
  • Strengthening the referral system and directing patients to better-equipped healthcare centers for reliable care, prioritizing patients referred by community health workers.
  • Recording and registering pregnant women, properly using partographs and cards as per the National Health Information Management System guidelines, and submitting reports at the end of each month.
  • Actively participating in daily, weekly, and monthly health center meetings, as well as training programs organized by the regional office and other health sector partners. Ensuring that pregnant women and children under two receive timely vaccinations during their visits.
  • Actively attending monthly meetings and training programs for community health workers and encouraging them to strengthen the referral system.
  • Properly using healthcare equipment and supplies, and ensuring the maintenance of both medical and non-medical equipment at the health center.
  • Maintaining mutual respect with patients, visitors, and colleagues while adhering to medical ethics. Coordinating with different health center departments, complying with the instructions of the supervisor, and accepting additional responsibilities as per the basic health service packages.
  • Enhancing professional knowledge and skills by utilizing available national guidelines at the health center.
  • Refraining from any political, religious, or racial activities, and respecting all ethical and human values.
  • Ensuring the preparation of monthly MCH (Maternal and Child Health) activity reports and preventing discrepancies in statistical data.
  • Complying with the policies, regulations, and guidelines of the Ministry of Public Health and the respective organization, while following working hours based on seasons, Ramadan, and national and religious holidays.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: A minimum of a post-secondary diploma in midwifery from a national or international accredited institution. Higher qualifications in the mentioned field will be given preference.
  • Experience: At least one year of work experience in the relevant field.
