Job Description
A. Programme Development and Implementation
- Support UNFPA humanitarian implementing partners in designing and executing program ideas, agreements, and work plans focused on youth and adolescents within the GBV/PSS framework.
- Monitor program activities including youth integration in Women Friendly Health Spaces (WFHS), Adolescent Girls’ Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM), Child Marriage (CM) programming, and engagement with key population groups.
- Strengthen the integration of peer educator initiatives and youth participation within GBV services.
- Promote youth innovation and leadership in humanitarian efforts, addressing inequality, promoting health, security, and creating platforms for active youth involvement.
- Assist in identifying and shaping youth-focused interventions by compiling and analyzing data, drafting project documents, and preparing work plans and statistical reports.
- Stay updated on policy and contextual changes while ensuring adherence to UNFPA policies and regulations.
- Foster collaboration between youth programs and reproductive health, GBViE, and humanitarian initiatives.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing by supporting technical and financial proposal development in coordination with specialists.
B. Capacity Building
- Identify and address capacity gaps among youth and GBViE partners, facilitating training for youth educators involved in GBV/PSS services.
- Monitor youth service provision by implementing partners and deliver training on standard operating procedures and guidance notes for youth educators.
- Provide technical assistance to implementing partners on youth-related healthy lifestyles and reproductive health to maximize outcomes.
C. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
- Compile and organize information for monitoring and reporting on youth activities in the GBV program.
- Provide technical support for projects involving youth within the GBV program in line with UNFPA rules.
- Assist in budget revisions, monitor program budgets, and regularly review project data.
- Maintain records and documentation of youth activities in the GBV program.
- Support program evaluations, establish mechanisms to measure results, and provide inputs for reports and recommendations.
- Share knowledge through documenting lessons learned, success stories, and best practices for dissemination.
D. Coordination, Advocacy, and Partnership
- Assist the Youth Community Mobilization Specialist in coordinating forums such as the Adolescents and Youth Working Group.
- Provide support to UNFPA area offices in key provinces on youth-related activities in GBV/PSS programs.
- Represent UNFPA in youth-related UN and humanitarian working groups as directed.
- Collaborate with the communications team to develop documentation and human interest stories.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by GBViE and Youth Community Mobilization Specialists.

Job Requirements
Education:
- Advanced university degree in youth work, social work, humanitarian management, women’s studies, or related social sciences.
- A bachelor’s degree with two additional years of relevant experience may substitute for a master’s degree.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in youth programming, preferably in youth-friendly health services.
- At least two years of relevant experience in designing, implementing, and monitoring youth-focused projects.
- Familiarity with UN systems, humanitarian programming, and inter-agency coordination.
- Experience in training facilitation and program coordination.
- Proficiency in budget development, office software, and web-based management systems.
Languages:
- Fluency in English, Dari, and Pashto.
