Job Description:
The Communications Manager is responsible for overseeing quality control of the Activity’s communications and reporting systems. This role includes designing data visuals that effectively showcase project results and creating a comprehensive communications/reporting training presentation, which will be delivered across all four regions of the project. The Communications Manager will ensure all regional staff understand and apply project reporting standards, focusing on results-oriented data. This role is essential in projecting a strong, positive image of the project and effectively capturing and sharing its achievements and lessons to support ongoing improvement.

Scope of Work:
Key responsibilities include:
- Establish and enhance internal and external communications and reporting procedures, focusing on high-quality infographics to highlight project results.
- Identify key audiences, assess effective communication channels, and develop strategies to engage target audiences.
- Collaborate with the technical team to integrate communications with program activities for cohesive reporting.
- Create and implement the project’s overall communications strategy for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead the communication of project activities, achievements, and lessons learned to relevant stakeholders, contributing to the project’s impact.
- Develop various communication materials, including weekly talking points, website content, presentations, reports, and photo documentation to highlight the project’s impact and best practices.
- Support the technical team with branding and marketing strategies and obtain necessary approvals from USAID.
- Work closely with technical and security teams to ensure communications are sensitive to local contexts and promote local ownership, managing USAID branding to respect local government roles.
- Represent project communications to USAID, ensuring alignment with USAID’s priorities and keeping the Branding and Marking Plan current.
- Oversee the design of data visuals that effectively depict project results.
- Additional tasks as assigned by the Chief of Party.

Job Requirements:
- Advanced degree in communications, management, international relations, public administration, economics, or related field; or a bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience, a master’s degree with 3 years, or a Ph.D. with 1 year of relevant experience.
- Five years of experience in a communications role on donor-funded projects, with supervisory and project management experience preferred.
- Experience in conducting interviews and crafting success stories that highlight project milestones.
- Strong skills in creating and managing social media content and understanding social media analytics.
- Proven experience in drafting success stories related to agricultural value chains, gender equity, and women’s empowerment.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage with various organizations, beneficiaries, and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) and design software.
- Proficiency in Dari or Pashto, with fluent English and strong report writing skills.
