Job Description:

Key Areas of Accountability:
The primary responsibilities of this position include supporting the implementation of the Agriculture component under the SC-NI grant across the target provinces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the project team with community mobilization and awareness efforts.
  • Conduct beneficiary selection through household surveys.
  • Perform value chain analysis in critical livelihood sectors, such as agriculture and livestock, to identify opportunities for market linkages and livelihood enhancement.
  • Implement strategies to improve market access for returnees, host communities, and Kuchi nomads by supporting the entire value chain from production to marketing.
  • Collaborate with Food Security and Livelihood (FSL) committees and stakeholders to strengthen vertical integration, offering capacity-building and training in production, processing, and marketing.
  • Foster horizontal integration by promoting collaboration among different communities and stakeholders, facilitating joint decision-making and resource sharing.
  • Support the design and execution of inclusive income-generating activities, ensuring that value chain initiatives are gender-responsive.
  • Work with community leaders and stakeholders to facilitate participatory mapping of natural resources and identify key communal assets for rehabilitation through cash-for-work programs.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of value chain interventions on food security and income generation within the targeted communities.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning:

  • Develop and implement a quality monitoring action plan.
  • Raise community awareness about project objectives, outputs, activities, MEAL systems, and SCI Child Safeguarding Policies.
  • Facilitate information sharing about the project and its activities during events like training sessions and workshops.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Agriculture.

Experience and Skills:
Essential:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in value chain analysis, livelihoods, market systems development, or related roles in an NGO or development organization.
  • Strong knowledge of value chain development, market linkages, and income generation.
  • Experience working with vulnerable communities, particularly returnees and nomadic populations.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
  • Fluency in local languages and familiarity with cultural contexts is an advantage.
