About Us

Save the Children has been operating in Afghanistan since 1976. By working closely with communities and respecting their context, we have brought lasting change to the lives of tens of thousands of children. Our work is grounded in the principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.  

We support children's access to better education, enabling more boys and girls to attend school, while empowering them to protect themselves and advocate for their own well-being. Additionally, we collaborate with families, communities, and healthcare workers in homes, clinics, and hospitals to promote basic health, helping to save the lives of children and mothers.
