Job Description:

Under the overall supervision of the Programme Coordinator (Economic Resilience), the technical supervision of the National Programme Officer (Economic Resilience), and the direct supervision of the relevant Regional Coordinator (RC), the incumbent will be responsible and accountable for supporting the management of livelihoods and economic resilience project activities in the provinces under his/her scope of responsibility.

 

Job Requirements:

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

 

Assist in planning, implementing and, monitoring livelihoods and economic empowerment porgramme activities, including SME grants, asset support for small scale businesses, employment retention, skill development initiatives (vocational training and apprenticeship), IGA and business development services, etc., in accordance with IOM and donor requirements.

Retrieve, compile, maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including reports, budgets, and other relevant records, and present information/data on specific project activities implemented in the field

Monitor activity budgets, verify availability of funds, obtain necessary approval and update project and budget-related information for the area of your responsibility on regular basis.

Work collaboratively with the team and support the coordination of project implementation, community outreach involving liaison with diverse organizational units, local communities, project beneficiaries, local authorities, and other relevant stakeholders such as other UN agencies, I/NGOs to build positive relationships, ensure community engagement, obtain necessary approvals, process and follow-up on actions, etc.

Draft field activity reports, track project progress, identify shortfalls in service delivery, identify challenges/gaps, and bringing them to the attention of the supervisor.

Ensure the effective integration of cross-cutting issues, such as protection, labour rights, gender, and decent work, into both project assessments and implementation, closely coordinating with relevant IOM units.

Draft correspondence, field reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations and other forms of documentation related to livelihoods and economic empowerment project activities.

Attend meetings, workshops, and represent the organization in discussions related to livelihood, organize training sessions, and communicate effectively with project beneficiaries, providing information about project objectives, activities, and expected outcomes.

Respond to general information requests and inquiries related to your areas of work; set up and maintain files/records.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience

 

Education

 

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Social sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, or related fields from a recognized institution with Two (2) years of relevant professional experience.

Or

 

High School diploma with four (4) years of relevant professional experience.

Experience:

 

Strong grasp of livelihoods development, income-generating activities, and economic resilience strategies, coupled with proficient project management skills, particularly in the context of livelihood and economic empowerment activities.

Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations.

Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,

Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.

Skills:

 

In depth knowledge of the broad range of migration related subject areas dealt with by the Organization.

Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming.

Knowledge of financial rules and regulations.

Languages:

 

For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written).

Working knowledge of Pashto or Dari is required.

Fluency in all national language(s) are highly advantages.
