Job Description:

To work closely with the district supervisor and other involved vaccination teams in the MAAC campaign for proper implementation of the three-month campaign in Asadabad and Dangam districts of Kunar province.

To ensure that the required supplies of vaccines, PPEs, hand sanitizers, and cold chains are received from the provincial office and PEMT before starting outreach sessions at the community level.

To prepare and implement a good micro plan for outreach and mobile programs under the supervision of HF in-charge and related supervisor

To have an updated list of the EPI and MCH dropouts to follow them in outreach sessions

To store, handle, and maintain vaccines as per Afghan N-EPI/UNICEF/WHO protocols.

To dispose of contaminated waste responsibly to prevent exposure.

To provide EPI services to the target population in Asadabad and Dangam districts in the outreach sites.

To maintain a high level of cold chain management all the time.

To respond immediately to any cold chain irregularity using local possibilities including sending vaccines to other closest health facilities with cold chain systems.

To report immediately any irregularity of the cold chain to a supervisor

To mobilize the community to immunize their children and women of reproductive age (social mobilization)

To provide appropriate counseling to prevent dropout and increase RI coverage at the district level.

To provide health education for her/his client to SDO and outreach sessions

To identify and report problems that interfere with the delivery of services.

To identify and prevent areas of missed opportunity within the HF target area.

To meet with project staff for program development and problem-solving.

To attend HealthNet TPO-sponsored training programs

Provide complete accurate clear and on-time daily, weekly, and other activity reports.

Documentation and provision of means of verification for the activities.

Work as a backup vaccinator in both districts where needed

Support social mobilizers during the social mobilization sessions

Provision of materials and information for social mobilization sessions

Tracking target achievement on a daily base

Other tasks assigned by the line manager.

Job Requirements:

Must be a resident

Graduated from 12th Grade, completed initial and refresher EPI training; a nursing and midwifery degree is preferable.

At least one year’s work experience in immunization activities (Routine immunization, MAAC campaign).

Must complete immunization initial training.

Must be fluent in local languages.
