Job Description:
The aim of this project is to support Afghan girls and boys to access safe schools (Construction of schools in Samangan) which provides facility to access a safe and protective environment for Afghan girls and boys in Samangan Province. The Community Mobilizer will be responsible to maintain close relationship with the communities to facilitate smooth project implementation through public awareness, community mobilization and contribution in the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will spend 80% of his working time in the field, and should regularly visit the targeted areas. the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.
Job Description:
Conduct surveys and assessments in the communities and provide feedback and suggestions for the strengthening and development of the Construction of schools project.
Create positive relations with communities CDCs, SMC, and DED through regular meetings and discussions for identifying and addressing education needs and issues.
Lead community-based mobilization and sensitization meetings, and introduce the project activities to project beneficiaries.
Support project location and project beneficiaries targeting strategy and criteria.
Create plans for establishing School Shuras with community members and elders to monitor and support the project activities in the community.
Work with the community to identify project needs, and create a work plan, assuring that community members are supporting the project and School Shura members.
Regularly monitoring the project and giving daily, weekly and monthly report to the Site Engineer & Provincial Coordinator.
Establish and maintain productive work relationships and coordinate activities with PED, DED, Hub Schools, and other relevant stakeholders.
Develop and maintain a network of external contacts with key individuals in the government, NGO sector, and civil society at the provincial level.
Support feedback mechanism within the project to ensure voices from direct beneficiaries and the wider community are continuously shared, captured, and fed into project activities.
Support the child protection staff and community-based committees in case management under the child protection component of the project.
Communities aware of project objectives, outputs, activities, MEAL systems and ACDO Child Protection Policies.
Facilitate project activities information at all events such as training, workshops and awareness sessions.
Assist joint monitoring visits with the government officials (district relevant authorities) to the project sites.
Support implementation of project baseline, mid-term, and final evaluation.
Support and advocate school Shuras to fill full their activities and guide them accordingly.
Develop project weekly narrative reports and submit them to the Provincial Coordinator timely.
Any other related task as assigned by the Provincial Coordinator and/or Senior Management Team (SMT).
Job Requirements:
12th Grade, Priority will be given to bachelor's degree holders.
Bachelor's degree holder with 3 years of relevant experience and 6 years of relevant experience with 12th Grade.
Experience in a relevant or similar position in humanitarian projects is required.
Skills:
Strong oral and written communication skills in Pashto and Dari, English skills will be an asset.
Knowledge of the community structure, dynamics, and development.
At least 3 to 6 years of experience in community mobilization, particularly in community participation, conflict resolution, and resource mobilization.
Knowledge of the value of education in Holy Islam, child development, and the current trends of education in Afghanistan.
Ability to cope well under pressure, work irregular hours, and meet tight deadlines.
Sound organizational skills and ability to prioritize and deliver assignments promptly often under severe time pressures.
Experience in needs assessment, project monitoring & evaluation, and program development
Good knowledge and experience in Afghanistan education system/context, education in emergencies (EiE), and child protection (CP)
Experience in coordination with government authorities, communities, donors, and beneficiaries.
Language skills:
Fluent oral and written skills in Pashto and Dari, fluent in English will be a plus point
