Job Description:

General Project Tasks:

 

Lead, manage, and coordinate day-to-day planning, implementation, and management of project activities in alignment with the project document and log frame.

Coordinate the implementation of livelihood activities, working in close collaboration with relevant line departments and local district authorities.

Oversee Livestock activities.

Manage value chain development, marketing, and linking livestock products to local markets.

Report directly to the Regional Manager and take responsibility for all project activities.

Ensure the project is implemented in accordance with the approved work plan, budget, and timeline.

Coordinate project activities with relevant stakeholders, including donors, government entities, local communities, and NGOs.

Supervise and manage the human resources assigned to the project.

Address complaints and concerns raised in relation to the project.

Monitor project activities regularly and report any issues to the Regional Manager. Develop corrective action plans based on findings from project monitoring officers.

Maintain regular communication with targeted communities and relevant government organizations in the province/region.

Conduct regular site visits to the project districts and Kabul province.

Community Awareness:

 

Ensure targeted communities are fully informed about all project activities.

Oversee a fair and inclusive beneficiary selection process, ensuring no discrimination.

Manage the distribution of tools, materials, and other resources to beneficiaries, ensuring proper capacity building is provided.

Supervise the beneficiary monitoring process and ensure timely reporting.

Collaborate closely with community representatives to determine community priorities.

Foster and develop community participation and contributions to the project as needed.

Administrative Responsibilities:

 

Prepare budget plans, control the project budget, and address any deviations throughout the year.

Develop quarterly, monthly, and weekly work plans for staff.

Train field staff and provide guidance on work management and discipline.

Identify local supply sources for materials needed in the project.

Ensure the efficient use of all resources, including equipment, staff, and information.

Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, as well as work plans, to the Regional Manager.

Monitor the project budget and ensure accounts are reconciled at the end of each month.

Supervise project activities through direct involvement in fieldwork.

Perform other administrative tasks as assigned by the Regional Manager

 

Job Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science is required; a master’s degree in a related field is an added advantage.

Fluency in Dari and Pashto, with excellent English language skills.

Strong technical skills in veterinary science, livelihood management, particularly in strengthening agriculture departments.

Ability to work in a team, often under stressful conditions, with both international and national staff.

Excellent communication skills in English and Dari, including strong verbal translation skills and negotiation abilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office suite, as well as email communication.

Ability to work effectively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Professional qualities: Politeness, friendly disposition, attention to detail, initiative, punctuality, honesty, and diligence.

Maintain a professional attitude under all circumstances and adhere to the principles of RRAA.
