Job Description:
THE POSITION & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Pharmacy Officer is responsible for the overall management of pharmacy activities under the RMNCAH project of CAF in Samangan and Logar. This includes:
- Managing pharmacy stock, warehouse, and medicine supplies for Family Health Houses (FHHs).
- Maintaining stock cards, consumption reports, and a database of medicine and medical supplies at PO and FHHs levels.
- Conducting medicine quantification training and other related pharmacy trainings.
- Ensuring buffer stock availability at the FHHs level and submitting requests for medicine and medical supplies.
- Building the capacity of midwives (MWs) in medicine-related fields through weekly tele-supervision and supportive supervision.
- Ensuring functionality of RCW 50 units with sufficient gas supply.
- Ensuring vaccine supplies to FHHs, verifying immunization-related data, and ensuring immunization targets are achieved.
- Overseeing the proper and timely distribution of vaccines and maintaining their optimal temperature.
Detailed Responsibilities of the Pharmacy Officer:
- Establishing and organizing pharmacy stock/warehouses at PO and FHHs levels.
- Ensuring timely supply of medicines.
- Maintaining stock cards and a database for medicines and medical supplies at PO and FHHs levels.
- Preparing consumption reports for medicines and medical supplies as required by the funding agency.
- Conducting trainings on medicine quantification and other pharmacy-related areas.
- Ensuring buffer stock availability at FHHs levels.
- Requesting medicines and medical supplies as needed.
- Developing MWs' capacity in medicine-related fields through tele-supervision and supportive supervision.
- Supervising and supporting MWs in FHHs as per the plan.
- Ensuring functionality of RCW 50 units and sufficient gas supply for operation.
- Verifying immunization-related data received from FHHs.
- Ensuring proper storage of medicines in pharmacy stocks.
- Maintaining a computerized database of essential drugs in the CAF pharmacy stock.
- Assisting the logistics department with the procurement of medical equipment and supplies.
Job Requirements:
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate of a recognized medical science institution.
- At least 3 years of experience in a related field.
- Experience in training, facilitation, and/or program support.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in English.
- Strong MS Office skills, especially in Excel and PowerPoint.
