Job Description:
Title: CAD4TB X-ray Technician
Reports to: Cluster Manager
Duty Station: Kandahar, Mirwais Regional Hospital
Responsibilities:
- Verify presumptive TB patients' identities and review physicians’ orders before conducting X-ray procedures.
- Explain X-ray procedures to patients and address their questions.
- Maintain accurate patient records and registration, especially for referrals from OPDs.
- Ensure high-quality X-rays to minimize repeat procedures.
- Process chest X-ray images in the CAD4TB system.
- Share CAD4TB results with relevant OPDs and referral centers.
- Maintain both soft and hard copies of CAD4TB results.
- Monitor and organize daily X-ray examinations.
- Assist in managing and maintaining X-ray materials and equipment with other technicians.
- Adhere to standard radiation safety protocols in the X-ray room.
- Communicate promptly with referral centers to ensure CAD4TB results are delivered.
- Coordinate with OPD and DOTS rooms for patient follow-up and GeneXpert testing.
- Report any CAD4TB system technical issues to IT and biomedical engineers of the UHI project.
- Ensure regular servicing and proper functioning of X-ray equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the project or direct supervisor.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certified Medical X-ray Technician
Required Skills:
- Proven experience as an X-ray technician.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with artificial intelligence tools for diagnosis.
- Excellent interpersonal and analytical skills, with proficiency in Dari, Pashto, and English preferred.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) is advantageous.
