Job Description
- Plan, organize, implement, and supervise/monitor all project activities to ensure successful execution.
- Maintain the overall technical quality of services and provide expert technical input at the provincial level.
- Support healthcare staff to improve health services under the Basic Package of Health Services, including maternal and child health, nutrition, communicable disease control, mental health, disability care, immunization programs, and essential drug supplies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders such as the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), donors, and local authorities to align project activities with national health policies and priorities.
- Develop and manage detailed work plans to ensure timely and efficient project implementation.
- Ensure effective execution of HIV/AIDS interventions and SBC (Social and Behavior Change) activities as outlined in the project contract.
- Strengthen the capacity of technical staff at health facilities and office levels by preparing and implementing detailed training plans.
- Meet HMIS verification targets and comply with QQM metrics as per project requirements.
- Adhere to organizational and donor guidelines in all project activities.
- Support the recruitment and onboarding of technical staff for the project.
- Prepare and submit high-quality, timely technical and narrative reports for internal and external stakeholders, following contract requirements.
- Monitor project key indicators (P4P) monthly, develop actionable plans to meet targets, and ensure implementation at provincial and health facility levels.
- Evaluate subordinate performance and lead weekly technical meetings to address challenges and improve outcomes.
- Provide technical assistance to health facility staff and supervisors to enhance service quality using standardized tools.
- Conduct regular field visits to health facilities for quality assurance and identifying areas for improvement.
- Actively participate in PPHCC meetings, cluster meetings, health committee meetings, and task force working groups.
- Collaborate with logistics teams to ensure timely supply distribution to health facilities.
- Ensure the proper use of project resources, including medicines, equipment, and supplies.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the line supervisor or headquarters team.
Job Requirements
- Education: MD or equivalent medical degree from a recognized university in Afghanistan or abroad.
- Experience: Minimum of three years of full-time experience managing provincial health projects or holding technical health positions post-graduation in Afghanistan or other developing countries.
- Training: Expertise in Reproductive Health, EPI (Expanded Program on Immunization), TB, Nutrition, IMCI (Integrated Management of Childhood Illness), and HMIS (Health Management Information System).
