Job Description:
Responsible for the implementation of public nutrition in the health facilities of Herat
Conduct monitoring and supervision of OPD-SAM and IPD, growth monitoring (GM), and Maternal, Infant and Young Child Nutrition (MIYCN) programs regularly.
Ensure adherence to national and international nutrition guidelines and standards.
Prepares timely nutrition project reports, provides feedback, prepares action plans, and follow up
Responsible for organizing nutrition initial and refresher training for existing HF staff/ CHWs and CHSs that will be conducted based on the work plan.
Oversee the collection of nutrition data and indicators and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement; compile reports generated by IPD/OPD SAM sites and prepare summary reports in the nutrition database.
Ensure that all supplies and food commodities are available in each health facility and ensure to establish an effective mechanism to prevent the shortage of food commodities in the HFs.
Ensure safe, clean, and proper storage of all supplies and other food commodities within the warehouse.
Any other task assigned by his/her supervisor.
Job Requirements:
MD or bachelor’s degree in Public Health from a recognized university
At least 3-4 years of Proven experience in nutrition program supervision and implementation.
Knowledge of national and international nutrition guidelines and standards.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Willingness and ability to travel to remote health facilities and villages;
Fluency in written and spoken local languages;
Knowledge of the local environment.
