Job Description

Responsibilities and Specific Assignments

General Responsibilities:

The Accountability Supervisor collaborates closely with communities to inform them about PU-AMI’s activities and services, encouraging their participation in PU-AMI projects and collecting their feedback. The supervisor ensures timely and effective management of this feedback. Reporting to the Accountability Officer, the Accountability Supervisor is responsible for developing and managing PU-AMI’s accountability systems in the eastern region and contributing to their improvement or dissemination as required.

Objective 1: Implementation of Accountability Activities

Key Activities/Duties:

  • Manage PU-AMI’s complaints and feedback mechanisms.
  • Collect community feedback regularly and register it in PU-AMI’s system.
  • Maintain confidential and detailed records of feedback.
  • Collaborate with the Accountability Officer and relevant departments to analyze and address feedback promptly.
  • Prioritize and resolve urgent or sensitive feedback.
  • Coordinate with community leaders and stakeholders to resolve issues, when necessary.
  • Compile, prepare, and submit detailed activity reports.
  • Propose new tools to enhance the effectiveness of feedback mechanisms.
  • Conduct field investigations and cross-check received information, when requested.

Objective 2: Promotion of Complaints and Feedback Mechanisms

Key Activities/Duties:

  • Raise awareness about PU-AMI’s feedback mechanisms among communities.
  • Develop and distribute relevant IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) materials.
  • Conduct activities to sensitize communities, authorities, and stakeholders about complaints and feedback systems.
  • Suggest innovative approaches to promote PU-AMI’s feedback mechanisms.

Objective 3: Communication

Key Activities/Duties:

  • Inform communities about their rights to provide feedback on PU-AMI’s activities and explain the process.
  • Communicate feedback-handling procedures to beneficiaries, project staff, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain clear communication with managers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Participate in departmental and accountability-related coordination meetings.

Note: Responsibilities may evolve based on project needs.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in BBA, LLB, MD, Midwifery, or Social Sciences (e.g., Literature, Psychology, Sociology, Education, Economics, Social Work, Law, International Relations).

Experience: At least one year in INGOs/NGOs in a similar role, with preference for candidates experienced in community mobilization, social work, or MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning).

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong interest in humanitarian work and understanding of humanitarian principles.
  • Excellent observation, active listening, and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and reporting skills.
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset.
  • Willingness to enhance knowledge through training and share skills with others.
  • Ability to handle stress and meet tight deadlines.
  • Training/experience in protection is an asset.
  • Prior experience in the eastern region is preferred.

Languages:

Fluency in Pashto, Dari, and English (written and spoken).

Computer Skills:

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with data analysis tools like Kobo Toolbox.
