Job Overview:
Purpose of the Role:
Coordinate, plan, and evaluate activities related to their area of responsibility and associated team, following Jhpiego’s values, policies, and protocols, as well as MLMCC health standards, to ensure high-quality, consistent health care.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Clean the health center (inside and outside), including furniture and equipment, daily.
- Wash the MCH rooms (ANC, PNC, and Delivery) daily or as needed and clean doors, windows, and glass surfaces as required.
- Remove waste from the health center daily, disposing of it properly by burning at designated areas.
- Regularly check and maintain toilet/bathroom supplies (toilet paper, brushes, cleaning powder, soap) and report any issues immediately.
- Assist the midwife with meal preparation, laundry, and related tasks.
- Help the midwife move office documents or equipment as needed, especially when transferring patients between rooms within the MCH ward.
- Operate the water pump to fill the health center’s tank when necessary.
- Ensure all lights are off and unplug any left-on heaters or AC units before leaving the center.
- Turn on/off kerosene or electric heaters daily as required.
- Help manage client flow and limit unnecessary caretaker presence in MCH rooms.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the direct or indirect supervisor.
Requirements:
1. Minimum of basic schooling.
2. At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
3. Fluent in Pashto and Dari.
4. Flexible and responsible with assigned duties.
5. Ability to work under pressure.
6. Good communication with staff.
7. Proficiency in written and spoken Pashto and Dari is preferred.
8. Respect cultural and social norms and strictly adhere to privacy guidelines.
