Role Overview:

 

Purpose:

The role focuses on managing the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) activities for the assigned project in the province. Responsibilities include managing project data, providing technical MEAL support, conducting research and evaluations, monitoring field activities, and ensuring the availability of feedback mechanisms. During significant humanitarian emergencies, the role may require adjusting responsibilities and working hours.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

- Manage data from all project areas within the province.  

- Provide technical MEAL assistance to the project team.  

- Support the design, execution, and documentation of research, studies, and evaluations to assess project impact.  

- Conduct regular monitoring and document findings as required.  

- Verify baseline and final project data, sharing updates with the MEAL Officer.  

- Collaborate with the MEAL team and project staff to document lessons learned.  

- Assist the project team in developing MEAL systems.  

- Work with the Country Office MEAL team to conduct research and present findings nationally.  

- Maintain qualitative and quantitative data.  

- Educate communities about project objectives, activities, and MEAL systems, as well as SCI's Child Safeguarding Policies.  

- Share project information during events like training sessions and workshops.  

- Develop monitoring tools, databases, quality benchmarks, and project reports.  

- Establish feedback mechanisms across all implementation sites.  

- Train field-based staff on MEAL requirements.  

- Accompany project stakeholders on monitoring visits when necessary.  

- Perform additional duties aligned with skills and experience as assigned by the line manager.

Qualifications and Skills: 

 

- Education:

 - University degree in development studies, social sciences, or a related field.  

 

-Essential Skills:

 - At least one year of experience with national or international organizations in MEAL or similar fields.  

 - Knowledge of information management and performance measurement frameworks.  

 - Strong communication and representation skills.  

 - Willingness to travel to project sites.  

 - Proficient in computer use.  

 - Basic understanding of English.  

 - Proven teamwork and multitasking abilities.  

 

- Desirable:

 - Familiarity with the local context, customs, and challenges in Faryab.
