Job Description:

Key Areas of Accountability: The primary responsibility of this role is to implement Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) activities for assigned projects in designated operational areas. Key duties include:

  • Assisting the MEAL Coordinator in conducting baseline, endline, and internal evaluation surveys, analyzing data, and drafting reports.
  • Supporting the implementation of MEAL systems.
  • Assisting in developing a performance monitoring framework to track progress, effectiveness, efficiency, and the achievement of expected outcomes, using both qualitative and quantitative indicators.
  • Working closely with project staff to establish accountability systems that involve beneficiaries and stakeholders in evaluations, impact assessments, and research.
  • Supporting the project team in daily monitoring and managing MEAL processes to ensure high-quality, innovative, and effective learning programs.
  • Assisting in the development of output and outcome indicator tracking sheets, IPTTs (Indicator Performance Tracking Tools), and output trackers, linking them to project activities.
  • Providing program staff with data collection tools, overseeing their development, and ensuring their effective use.
  • Establishing and maintaining a data management system to support project planning, implementation, monitoring, and learning.
  • Conducting regular field visits to monitor, evaluate, and assess the impact and accountability processes of targeted areas.
  • Monitoring and documenting program progress against agreed indicators.
  • Collecting accurate and timely data on program activities.
  • Preparing internal, donor, and beneficiary reports on project activities.
  • Developing case studies to capture qualitative project outcomes.
  • Updating project indicator status and achievements in the MIS system.
  • Completing any other tasks assigned by the line manager.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • University degree in development studies, social science, or another relevant field.

Experience and Skills:

  • At least one year of relevant experience.
  • Previous work in programming areas such as education, health and nutrition, child poverty, child protection, food security, and livelihoods.
  • Maturity and confidence in working with government institutions and community members.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) in English and local languages, with the ability to resolve conflicts and negotiate.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other professional office software.
