General Scope of the job

Ministry of Energy and Water (MEW) will have a numerous Dams feasibility studies, several dams detailed design and construction projects in the Years (1403). To conduct the dam’s feasibility studies, detail design of dams and review the feasibility studies and dam design reports on a professional and technical manner the MEW is seeking for employments of competent senior dam design specialist.

Job description, Responsibilities and Tasks

Design of concrete gravity Dams, earth Dams, rock fill Dams and any other type of dams independently using both the soft wares and hand calculation.

Conduct the feasibility study of the dam projects.

Review the feasibility study reports with in the specified time frame and issue comments if any.

Review of the detailed design packages of Dams and appurtenant structures.

Preparation of BOQs and Cost estimate of dams.

Preparation of the design drawings of dams.

Review the technical specification of the dam’s project.

Review the structure design drawings and calculation of dams, water intake structures, headrace channel, fore bay, penstocks, and tailrace canal.

Attending the technical boards/Technical Team meetings, meetings with MEW and meetings with contractors, consultant and others.

Attend the procurement committee for the purpose of contractors’/ consultants’ technical and financial proposal evaluation and negotiations

Preparation of the TORs for Dam projects.

Preparation of the technical specification for dam projects.

Preparation of the monthly activity reports.

Conduct capacity building training (Knowledge transfer) for the official employee through on job training and work shop

Will need travel to provinces

Performs any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the Directors and supervisor.

Job Requirements:

Qualification and experience

The candidate shall be at least Master degree in Dam Design/ Hydraulic Structures with a minimum of five years related experience in dame design and having the following qualifications and skills:

Expert in design of concrete dams, earth dams, rock fill dams, arch Dams and any other type of dams.

Fully expert and familiar with USBR, ASCE 7-10, ASTM, ACI, IS, ICOLD and USACE Codes and standards.

Fully expert in Software of Geo studio, Dams finite element analysis, CADAM, SAP2000, Civil 3D.

The candidate shall attach a copy of his higher degree to his application.

The candidate shall attach copies of his contracts as evidence document to prove his experience along with complete address of his direct supervisor.

Speaking fluently in English.
