General Scope of the Job

Ministry of Water and Energy has planned feasibility studies and detail design of the dams’ and other water infrastructures projects in the years (2024-2026).

Moreover, some companies may submit the studies reports and design packages to the Ministry of water and Energy for review; to conduct the reviews on a professional manner, the Ministry of Water and Energy is seeking for employments of competent and professional senior Hydraulic structures design specialist with the below job description and responsibilities:

Duties & Responsibilites:

Review of the existing documents of the project.

Review of the projects TORS.

Conducting the feasibility study level design of the hydraulic structures.

Conducting the detail design of hydraulic structures like spillways, Canals,

water intake structures, headrace channel, fore bay, penstocks, outlets, tailrace canal, tunnels, siphons, aqueducts, supper passages and retaining walls.

Review the designs of hydraulic structures like spillways, water intake structures, headrace channel, fore bay, penstocks, power house, and tailrace canal, tunnels, siphons, aqueducts, supper passages and retaining walls.

Attending the meetings with MWE and others.

Preparation the Bid document (drawings, BOQS and specification) for hydraulics structures.

Preparation of the monthly activity reports.

Preparation of the TORS for hydraulic structures.

Preparation of the technical specification for hydraulic structures.

Any other task assigned by the related supervisor.

Job Requirements:

Qualification and experience

The candidate shall be at least BSc degree in hydraulics/water resources engineering with at least seven (7) years’ experience in design of hydraulic structures or a Master degree in Hydraulics structures design with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in design of hydraulic structures (Power house, water intake towers, stilling basin, spillways, outlets, canals, syphons, falls, aqueducts, super passages and others) having the following qualifications, skills and experience:

Expert in design of all kind of hydraulic structures which includes but not limited to canals, Siphons aqueducts, supper passages, water and power tunnels, spillways, stilling basins and head works.

Fully expert and familiar with standards of USBR, ASCE 7-10, ASTM, ACI, and USACE international Codes.

Fully expert in Software of Ansys, Hydraulic structures finite element analysis, SAP2000, Micro-soft office and internet.

Speaking fluently in English, along with good writing and reading skills of English.
