Job Description:

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

 

Assist the Programme Coordinator and National Programme Officer in the implementation and monitoring of programme activities.

 

Support the Programme Coordinator and National Programme Officer in the preparation of materials and input to CB-PAHA-relevant fora and meetings and contribute to unit research in coordination with other relevant IOM units into the promotion and strengthening of Protection and Gender Mainstreaming, Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP), and safeguarding within CB-PAHA programming and related infrastructure and facilities.

Organize frequent field visits and meetings with staff and partners, support the coordination of distributions and warehouse activities, and contribute to identifying challenges and bottlenecks, as well as developing recommendations to improve quality control measures.

Facilitate the administrative coordination of project implementation and support regular liaison with relevant organizational units to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, and follow-up on administrative actions.

Draft status reports, containing indication of shortfalls and bottlenecks in delivery, bringing them to the attention of CB-PAHA management.

Provide the National Programme Officer with information and data related to reception and transit center operations and contribute to the preparation of reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations, and other forms of documentation, as needed.

 

Assist the National Programme Officer in screening complaints received via AWAAZ Afghanistan and follow up with field team personnel to address them.

Assist the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit with the implementation and monitoring and evaluation project activities of post-arrival humanitarian assistance operations, particularly with regards to the Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) response mechanism for border response activities.

Assist in the administrative tasks of NFI and raw material procurement and processing, and related work/process flows at the reception and transit centers, including liaison with Supply Chain Unit (SCU) personnel and other relevant units.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications and Experience

 

 

 

Education

 

Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience

Or

 

High School Diploma with four (4) years of relevant professional experience.

 

 

Experience

 

Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations.

Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking, and other vulnerable groups.

Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organizations in a multi-cultural setting is advantageous.

 

 

Skills:

 

In-depth knowledge of the broad range of migration-related subject areas dealt with by the Organization; and,

Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming.

Knowledge of financial rules and regulations.

 

 

Languages

 

For all Applicants, fluency in English and French is required (oral and written).

Working knowledge of Pashto or Dari is required.

Fluency in all national language(s) are highly advantages.
