Position Title: Female Doctor
Work Area: A female doctor responsible for managing the clinic, diagnosing and treating patients, and reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Exhibit appropriate behavior and interactions with clinic personnel and clients while respecting local culture and traditions.
- Implement and adhere to new developmental programs.
- Commitment to duties and adherence to established laws.
- Participate in training sessions and transfer the learned knowledge to other staff members as per the internal training plan.
- Assist in the general management of the clinic.
- Supervise and ensure compliance with infection prevention standards in relevant clinic areas.
- Oversee and monitor the delivery of health education and promotional activities for patients.
- Provide direct care to patients in internal medicine and gynecology/obstetrics with accurate diagnosis and treatment.
- Treat mild preeclampsia, incomplete miscarriages, and refer severe preeclampsia and eclampsia cases to advanced health facilities.
- Provide essential and emergency obstetric care.
- Care for newborns and treat neonatal infections.
- Diagnose and treat sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
- Utilize national guidelines and modern medical practices.
- Follow diagnostic and treatment protocols and standards.
- Accurately document and follow up on treatments at the clinic.
- Collect and report monthly data from the health center.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of on-the-job training for clinic staff.
- Promote mental health awareness according to BPHS guidelines.
- Provide health education, case detection, counseling, treatment, registration, regular reporting, follow-up, and referral of patients with mental health issues and disabilities as per BPHS guidelines.
- Ensure quality improvement programs and follow-ups in coordination with the community.
- Identify tuberculosis (TB) cases, collect sputum samples, register, follow-up, and treat TB patients according to the DOTs regimen if the program is available.
- Educate CHWs about TB cases under treatment without clinic access and monitor them regularly through CHWs.
- Treat malaria patients according to the national malaria control standards.
- Diagnose and treat severe anemia due to PPH where possible.
- Provide quality eye care services for patients.
- Raise public awareness about HIV/AIDS.
- Recommend HIV testing for TB patients upon diagnosis.
- Participate in women’s health council meetings at the clinic level.
- Monitor and implement rational use of medicines (RUD) at the health center.
- Actively contribute to the implementation of new quality improvement standards.
- Identify, treat, and refer patients with mental health issues and disabilities.
- Identify, treat, and refer patients with eye diseases.
Job Requirements:
- Graduate from Balkh University (Medical degree from Balkh preferred).
- Three years of work experience in BPHS-supported health facilities.
- Proficiency in English and local languages.
