Job overview:
Vaccinator is responsible to effectively vaccinate all the illegible women and children who are under the
coverage of clinic through fixed and outreach sites with consideration of the people’s need and in
compliance with National EPI and BPHS policies.
Main Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly plan of fixed and outreach’s daily activities in agreement of EPI supervisor
Vaccinator must hang a copy of daily activity plan on the notice board so that it can be easily
accessible to all supervisory teams.
Preparation, organization and delivery of fixed and outreach immunization and vaccine services
for women and children in the clinic or its whereabouts in accordance with the specified
standards.
Striving in extension of coverage area, decline of dropouts and meeting the targets. Drawing
graphs of vaccination activities.
Arrangement and organization of vaccines in refrigerator and strictly following cold chain
conditions. Vaccinator is responsible for maintenance of cold chain equipment.
Recording of the number of utilized vaccines and syringes and reporting to the supervisor and
head of clinic monthly.
Preparing the inventory list of the fixed center in each quarter and submit to supervisor or head
of clinic.
Provision of health education and awareness related to immunization and vaccine for all of the
residents of the area under coverage.
Actively contribution and coordination with CHWs, clinic’s staff and EPI vaccination campaigns
Consideration of hygienic conditions during administration of vaccine, IP and cold chain.
Preparation of monthly activity reports in accordance with registers and tally sheets,
subsequently, checking and sending them to head of clinic for review.
Consideration of Islamic, behavioral and social norms across health facility and community.
Creation of a friendly environment between colleagues and attending in meetings with other
health workers as per requirement.
Having adequate knowledge about BPHS for Afghanistan and implementing them in daily practice.
Job Requirements:
Required Qualifications and Experience:
12 grade graduate degree and 3 months initial training certificate is an advantage.
At least having 1-year vaccination experience in fixed center and familiarity with HMIS tools and
reporting format
Abilities/Skills:
Ability to work successfully in teams, across a diverse team in a complex environment with
multiple tasks, short deadlines, and intense pressure to perform
Strong skills in facilitation, team building, and coordination
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including strong writing and communication
skills in local languages Dari, Pashtu and Uzbeki
