Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Ensure cash payment hours are adhered to during payments.
- Assist team members with monthly and yearly account closures.
- Post daily transactions in the Integra system.
- Provide complete and accurate documents and support to internal audits as needed.
- Under the supervision of the Field Finance Manager/Officer, oversee cash distribution processes by verifying token numbers, beneficiary IDs, and other criteria during distribution.
- Submit bank transfer applications and other required forms to the bank promptly.
- Reconcile bank accounts with the Integra system.
- Report any doubts or issues regarding payments, including cash distribution documents, to the Field Finance/Field Coordinator or Kabul Finance promptly.
- Conduct regular market checks to verify procurement prices, ensuring accountability and transparency.
- Prepare and update monthly fund requests and forecast statements for submission to the Kabul Finance Department after obtaining Field Finance and Coordinator approval.
- Deduct taxes from suppliers in accordance with Afghanistan's tax laws.
- Maintain good relationships with staff from other departments and with suppliers.
- Process payments and receipts following finance procedures.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Provincial Finance Manager.
Job Requirements:
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
- Bachelor's degree with prior experience using computerized accounting systems.
- At least 1–2 years of finance-related experience with NGOs or UN agencies.
- Willingness to travel to districts and field sites when required.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work in cross-cultural settings and foster team spirit.
- Flexibility and readiness to take on additional tasks as needed to support team goals.
