Job Description

 

The Education Officer, reporting to the Provincial Coordinator, will collaborate closely with program staff to align activities with project goals. This role requires working with senior management, government officials, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth and effective implementation of project activities. The Education Officer will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and impactful execution of project initiatives, contributing to the project's overall success.  

 

Key Responsibilities

The Education Officer will perform the following duties, among others:  

 

- Assist the Provincial Coordinator in planning and executing project activities at the provincial and district levels.  

- Collaborate with internal teams and district-level government departments to ensure smooth project implementation and address operational challenges.  

- Ensure that project activities align with national education policies, standards, and objectives.  

- Act as the primary point of contact for communication with community representatives, hub schools, and district-level government departments.  

- Establish and maintain positive relationships with district officials and provide regular updates to provincial management on progress, challenges, and accomplishments.  

- Represent the organization at district-level meetings, workshops, and conferences to promote collaboration and strengthen partnerships.  

- Monitor project activities regularly to ensure effectiveness and achievement of objectives.  

- Work with the Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) team to gather data and evaluate project progress.  

- Support capacity-building activities for CBE teachers, school staff, and SMSs as required by the project.  

- Share knowledge and best practices with project staff to encourage learning and continuous improvement.  

- Document and share case studies, success stories, and lessons learned to inform future planning.  

- Prepare and submit detailed progress reports, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and areas needing further support.  

- Perform any other duties assigned by the line supervisor.  

 

Job Requirements  

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Public Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).  

- Experience4–6  years in project implementation, preferably in the education sector with an NGO or government organization.  

- Skills

 - Strong knowledge of Afghanistan's education policies, systems, and structures.  

 - Proven ability to collaborate with government officials, provincial teams, and local communities.  

 - Experience in report writing, documentation, and independent work, as well as teamwork.  

 - Proficiency in local languages, English, and Microsoft Office applications.  

- Priority will be given to local residents.
