Position Overview:

 

The Construction Project Manager (CPM) will oversee all phases of construction projects, including new school constructions, renovations, and expansions. The CPM is responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet the highest quality standards while complying with all relevant regulations and safety protocols.

 

Key Duties:

 

Project Planning & Coordination:

 

- Develop project plans, covering timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.

- Work closely with architects, engineers, and consultants to finalize designs and specifications.

- Ensure adherence to local building codes, safety standards, and educational requirements.

 

Financial Management:

 

- Prepare cost estimates and manage project budgets.

- Track and control expenditures to stay within budget limits.

- Review and approve contractor payments and change orders.

 

Contractor & Vendor Oversight:

 

- Select subcontractors and vendors through a competitive bidding process.

- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

- Supervise subcontractors and vendors to ensure quality and compliance with project requirements.

 

Project Execution & Monitoring:

 

- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and resolve any issues or delays.

- Manage construction schedules to meet project milestones.

- Enforce health and safety regulations on the construction site.

 

Communication & Reporting:

 

- Act as the primary contact for project-related communication with school administrators, community members, and other stakeholders.

- Provide regular updates and progress reports to senior management.

- Resolve any project-related conflicts or issues promptly.

 

Quality Assurance:

 

- Ensure all construction work meets quality standards and project specifications.

- Perform inspections and oversee testing to ensure compliance with design and regulatory requirements.

- Address and fix any defects in the construction work.

 

Qualifications:

 

Education:

 

- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.

 

Experience:

 

- At least 5 years of experience in managing construction projects, particularly in educational facilities.

- Demonstrated ability to oversee large-scale construction projects from start to finish.

 

Skills:

 

- Strong understanding of construction processes, building codes, and safety standards.

- Excellent skills in project management, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.

- Effective communication and negotiation abilities.

- Capability to work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders.

 

Certifications:

 

- Preferred certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar.

- Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
