Job Overview:
Develop a strong understanding of Afghanaid's policies and donor contract requirements, sharing all grant-related documents (proposals, reports, budgets, etc.) with the necessary individuals, and highlighting key terms and conditions. After signing a new grant agreement, ensure a seamless transition of the project to the Grant Management Unit, following up on outstanding tasks such as due diligence assessments and Project Partnership Agreement (PPA) processes. Confirm reporting duties during the project kickoff meeting.
Maintain internal tracking of reporting deadlines, coordinating with relevant teams to collect, analyze, and submit financial and narrative reports from Afghanaid and its partners. Review and refine project reports, surveys, evaluations, and other communications, ensuring timely and compliant submissions that meet the standards of Afghanaid, donors, and partners.
Serve as the main point of contact for communications with donors on assigned projects, responding to queries and relaying questions to the program implementation team. Ensure regular meetings between the project and finance teams to review grants and partnership agreements, and participate in project reviews, addressing potential issues with contractual obligations, quality, or deadlines—particularly risks related to donor clawbacks or reputational damage.
Evaluate the need for project revisions, assisting the program development team with changes to budgets, frameworks, and other contract components. Represent Afghanaid at external events and meetings to strengthen relationships, promote the organization, and explore new funding opportunities. Support the capacity-building and performance evaluations of Project Managers by providing feedback and offering training when necessary.
Contribute to organizational learning by documenting knowledge, participating in lessons learned sessions, and offering training to Afghanaid staff on reporting and impact analysis. Develop templates and tools for project reporting, analysis, and evaluation, and take on additional tasks as needed.
