Job Purpose:

The primary objective of this assessment is to deliver essential humanitarian emergency services in five critical areas: livelihood, WASH, health, nutrition, MHPSS, and GBV. The International Medical Corps is currently working in several provinces on projects funded by BHA, AHF, UNICEF, and UNFPA, focusing on GBV, MHPSS, WASH, nutrition, and health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend an orientation session at the office.
  • Visit designated sites in the provinces of Paktika, Jawzjan, and Bamyan.
  • Collect data through household-level interviews, Key Informant Interviews (KII), and Focus Group Discussions (FGD).
  • Ensure accurate and clear note-taking during KII and FGD sessions.
  • Provide daily updates to the MEAL Officer.
  • Report to the MEAL Officer for data verification and correction.
  • Maintain high data quality standards.
  • Uphold the privacy and confidentiality of beneficiaries.

  • Follow the Code of Conduct, uphold humanitarian principles, and respect international humanitarian law.

Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA):

  • Actively promote PSEA standards within the International Medical Corps and among the beneficiaries it serves.

Compliance & Ethics:

  • Foster a culture of compliance and ethics throughout the organization. Adhere to International Medical Corps and donor compliance and ethics standards. Conduct all work with integrity.

Safeguarding:

  • All staff are responsible for protecting the communities they serve, including vulnerable adults and children. This includes safeguarding against sexual exploitation and abuse, child neglect or abuse, and human trafficking.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in qualitative/quantitative surveys, including conducting interviews, KIIs, and FGDs.
  • Preference given to local candidates in the duty station.

Competencies:

  • Willingness to travel to remote areas.
  • Comfortable discussing health, nutrition, and related issues.
  • Fluency in Pashto and Dari; knowledge of English is preferred.
  • Familiarity with computer skills and data entry using tablets.
