Job Description:

Monitoring

  • Develop monitoring tools and systems for specific projects.
  • Provide training for program and monitoring teams in the field and Kabul.
  • Conduct project monitoring visits.
  • Prepare monitoring reports and discuss findings with project technical staff.
  • Collect reports from field monitoring visits and offer feedback.
  • Manage the project M&E Matrix.

Evaluation

  • Lead or participate in project evaluations as needed.
  • Oversee or assist with data entry, analysis, and the preparation of evaluation reports.
  • Participate in or lead the design of project evaluations.

Health Information System

  • Collect and compile project data according to the national HMIS or project-specific information systems.
  • Design a Health Information System (HIS) for the project if necessary.
  • Analyze monthly data and prepare reports for the project technical team.
  • Manage the project dashboard.

Meetings

  • Attend various internal and external meetings as required.

Training and Capacity Building on M&E and HIS

  • Develop and implement a training plan for project staff on M&E and HIS.
  • Create and implement M&E tools and systems for improved project management.

Research and Studies

  • Lead or participate in research and studies conducted by the organization.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of research and studies.
  • Support the proposal development team by providing data collection and information for program development.
  • Participate in field studies and situation analyses.

Archiving and Knowledge Management

  • Ensure a proper filing system (both soft and hard copies) for technical data and information related to assigned projects.
  • Develop or implement a database for the specific project.
  • Contribute to the development of project indicators and targets.
  • Create annual and quarterly plans.
  • Attend meetings as necessary.

Job Requirements:

  • MD or equivalent medical degree.
  • Bachelor’s degree in public health or statistics preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of full-time experience in the health sector, including at least 3 years in HIS or M&E roles.
  • Proficient in computer statistical packages.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and report writing skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Fluency in Pashto, Dari, and English.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Willingness to travel to field locations.
