The Aga Khan Agency for Habitat (AKAH) aims to ensure people live in safe, sustainable, and resilient communities where they can thrive, whether in remote villages, towns, or densely populated cities. AKAH collaborates with communities to enhance their preparedness for natural disasters and the impacts of climate change. The agency also works to improve access to essential services and opportunities that enable better living conditions. AKAH assists communities in preparing for potential crises, provides immediate relief in the aftermath of disasters, and supports rebuilding efforts that are both greener and more resilient. AKAH currently operates in Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Syria, Pakistan, and India, with plans for further expansion into Central Asia and East Africa.
