About Us

ActionAid is an international, non-governmental, non-profit organization dedicated to creating a world free from poverty and injustice. It operates in over 40 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas.

In Afghanistan, ActionAid began its work in 2002 and is registered as an international non-governmental organization (INGO) with the Ministry of Economy. ActionAid-Afghanistan is committed to long-term engagement with marginalized and impoverished communities, focusing on a Human Rights-Based Development Approach, as well as implementing WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) and livelihood programs across various provinces.
