Job Description:
POSITION OBJECTIVE
University of Central Asia, Afghanistan (UCA) is an affiliate of Aga Khan Foundation, Afghanistan (AKF – Afg). The Short-Term Course Trainer is a full-time employee of SPCE-Afghanistan under the AWAKE project. He/she will report directly to the Student Service Officer and SPCE, Kabul Program Coordinator. She/he will work in harmony and close cooperation with all other personnel of SPCE—UCA.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conducing In – campus and online Entrepreneurship training through SPCE –Kabul Learning Centers, Afghanistan.
• Coordinating groups and ability to supervise not more than 25 students.
• Is responsible for the quality of training programme/course modules (lessons shall be student-oriented with the implementation of interactive teaching methods and usage of modern teaching technologies). The Training quality shall be evaluated, and the remuneration shall depend on this assessment.
• Training session hours in classrooms or online no more than 20-24 academic hours per week; Total annual workload of the training period shall exceed 800 academic hours.
• Consistently keeping a record of participation of individuals and other documentation flow both in paper and online (individual plans, examination registers, grade reports).
• Ensure that the lessons are planned and delivered in a highly participative and interactive manner and responsive to the requests and suggestions of the students.
• Ensuring the safety of equipment and furniture in the classrooms.
• Performing extracurricular activities with students.
• Advising students on programme curricula and career decisions.
• Ensure the timely preparation of the established records. Monitor the filling of documents according to the nomenclature documents approved by the Head of SPCE-Afghanistan.
• Assist in the application and registration process of Entrepreneurship Training candidates.
• Coordinate communications with Project Coordinator and Student Service Officer.
• Take all necessary steps of safety to ensure the safety of work in the Training Venue Provided by EI Unit and Entrepreneurship Training facilities. Responsible for compliance with safety regulations by students in the entrepreneurship training room.
• Keep a record of all available equipment and resources in the training room.
• Together with SPCE, Coordinator to monitor and control entrepreneurship program students’ progress.
• Perform as tester and invigilator for the entrepreneurship program, for other trainers’ subjects of training.
• Agree on training schedule with SPCE, Coordinator, and Student Service Officer.
• Controlling and maintaining workable conditions for the training room resources.
• Any other relevant task assigned by SPCE-UCA, Coordinator or Student Service Officer.
• To carry out the responsibilities of the role in a way which reflects AKF (Afg)'s commitment to safeguarding staff, beneficiaries and protecting children from harm and abuse in accordance with AKF (Afg)s Safeguarding policy.
• To report any suspicions or actual violations of the Safeguarding Policy and/or Child Safeguarding Policy as per the given training.
OCCASIONAL SIGNIFICANT DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensuring timely reporting documentation (individual plan, transcripts, exam results, etc.), Developing training session materials, and ensuring high attendance at the training center by timely approaching students’ needs and liaising with absent students.
• Observe classes on a quarterly basis.
• Any other relevant task assigned by SPCE-UCA, Coordinator or Student Service Officer.
Job Requirements:
JOB SPECIFICATION
• Bachelor’s in business and Entrepreneurship or Economics with minimum 3 years’ experience in teaching and training business and entrepreneurship, while Masters in Business entrepreneurship or economics will be preferred.
• B2 level of English language proficiency, with strong email communications skills.
• Creativity: Trainers should find ways to involve students in their lessons through online and in-campus training approaches, Additionally, trainers are required to work using different teaching and learning styles to ensure the highest level of development.
• Skilled in online Learning Management System (LMS), capable of delivering online synchronous and asynchronous sessions.
• Communication Skills: Fluent speaker, capable of communicating through different virtual platforms, maintaining a strong level of social presence in online training.
REQUIRED CORE COMPETENCIES
• Capable to teach online and in-campus.
• Familiar with MOODLE and other synchronous platforms.
• Strong online and in-campus pedagogical skills.
• Computer literacy: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, and email.
