Job Description:
The Supply Chain Management Assistant works in close collaboration with the operations and project teams in the PMU in ensuring successful implementation and oversight of GF programme activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support Distribution, Inventory Management, and Quantification of commodities.
Ensures Logistic System Design/LMIS
Support adequate planning and space for receipt of commodities including assets, storage and further distribution of health and non-health products in country according to WHO Good Storage Practice and WHO Good Distribution Practice, in coordination with the national counterparts.
Support follow up of appropriate measures for managing expired/obsolete products in partnership with MOPH and in line with respective national/international policies.
Implementing safeguarding measures to protect GF and UNDP assets from loss and damage as per UNDP corporate regulations, maintaining and updating inventories, timely preparation and submission of the stock reports to the nominated insurance company.
Organize regular stock physical counts-at least twice a year in collaboration with CO inventory focal point.
Support development of logistics management information system for ordering, delivery, receipt, stock level and inventory control including expiry tracking at all levels.
Support adequate management of commodities at the CMS in the acceptable quality standards, up to date inventory, safety, and generally good storage conditions.
Provide PMU reports on inventory, stock status and distribution on a monthly basis and consolidate reports including national reports every quarter.
The incumbent performs other duties within their functional profile as deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.

Inventory management: Each office to ensure sufficient inventory items are available for use as well as reporting for items which are beyond the corporate threshold of $5K and above.

Category management: Ability to segment spend into areas which contain similar or related products enabling focus opportunities for consolidation and efficiency.

Job Requirements:
Education:
Secondary education is required.
University degree (Bachelor’s degree) in Business, Economics, Public Administration, Procurement, or any related development field will be given due consideration, but it is not a requirement.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years (with secondary education) or 2 years (with bachelor’s degree) of experience in procurement or supply chain management is required.
Required skills and competencies
Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and advanced knowledge of web-based management systems.
Desired additional skills and competencies
Experience of UN or UNDP procurement policies and procedures.
Knowledge of Global Fund’s financial policies and procedures.
Experience working in/with international donor-funded projects with supply chain management duties.
Solid experience in working with a multi-cultured group of people and systems in high-pressure environments.
Working experience on stock, inventory management, and supply chain management.
