Job Description:

Responsibilities and Specific Assignments

General Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary healthcare services to patients and administer specific vaccines to target populations.
  • Promote the health and well-being of mothers and children.
  • Prevent neonatal and maternal mortality among newborns and women of childbearing age.
  • Educate all patients on necessary health practices.
  • Participate in all relevant training programs.
  • Record and maintain all case registers.
  • Attend meetings upon request.
  • Assist in deliveries.
  • Refer cases to other healthcare facilities when necessary.
  • Provide family planning services.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Punctually attend assigned duties as per the job description.
  • Prepare all necessary documents before field visits, including tally sheets, registers, referral forms, and ANC, PNC, and FP cards.
  • Provide Ferrous Sulphate to ANC and PNC mothers.
  • Conduct field visits according to monthly, weekly, and daily plans.
  • Fill ANC and PNC cards for pregnant women before and after delivery and refer them to appropriate healthcare centers as needed.
  • Conduct patient examinations and obtain detailed medical histories.
  • Refer delivery cases to nearby healthcare facilities.
  • Counsel patients on short-term birth control methods and complete family planning cards.
  • Monitor the growth of children under five and the health of pregnant and lactating mothers, referring cases of malnutrition to relevant authorities.
  • Treat and prescribe medications for patients within the midwife's competency, adhering to PU-AMI, MoPH, and WHO guidelines.
  • Refer women and children for vaccinations and administer vaccines to women.
  • Provide health education to women and children.
  • Refer mothers and children to nearby healthcare centers for follow-up visits.
  • Maintain and update all required documents and records.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Must possess a midwifery diploma approved by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH).
  • Must have passed the government exit exam.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with relevant work experience.
  • Familiarity with MoPH policies and systems is required.

Working Hours:

  • Saturday to Thursday.
  • Note: Working hours may increase or change during emergencies or program needs, and personnel should be prepared to accommodate these changes.
