Job Description:
Tasks :
Conduct training sessions on modern and traditional agricultural practices, such as crop production, pest management, irrigation techniques, soil fertility, and harvesting.
Demonstrate the use of agricultural tools, machinery, and technologies.
Provide practical workshops on organic farming, greenhouse farming, livestock management, and other relevant topics.
Develop and adapt training materials and lesson plans based on project objectives and local agricultural needs.
Include climate. Smart agriculture techniques and market. Oriented strategies in the curriculum. Regularly update materials to incorporate emerging agricultural trends and innovations.
Conduct assessments of beneficiaries' current farming practices to identify gaps and tailor training accordingly.
Provide on. Site technical assistance and mentorship to farmers during and after the training program.
Guide participants on post. Training implementation and follow. Up activities.
Maintain detailed records of attendance, training outcomes, and participants’ progress.
Submit regular reports on training activities, including challenges, achievements, and recommendations.
Conduct impact assessments to measure the effectiveness of the training sessions.
Collaborate with local agricultural extension workers, NGOs, and government bodies to ensure alignment with regional agricultural strategies.
Participating in community engagement activities to encourage participation in training programs.
Organize field visits, demonstrations, and exhibitions to showcase best practices and successful outcomes.
Any related or important tasks and responsibilities as required, if assigned by the line manager.
Job Requirements:
At least 3 years of practical experience in agriculture or agricultural training.
Experience working with rural communities and marginalized groups.
Familiarity with local agricultural practices and challenges.
Technical Skills
Strong technical knowledge of agricultural techniques, tools, and resources.
Effective teaching and facilitation skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
Proficiency in developing training materials and delivering engaging sessions.
Basic computer skills for preparing reports and training documentation.
