Project Overview

The project involves constructing a two-story office annex with a basement, remodeling the existing office building, building two new two-story accommodation blocks, and refurbishing the current guesthouse.

Job Responsibilities

Key Functions:

Coordination, Delivery, and Performance:

  • Assist the Project Manager in developing and implementing control procedures.
  • Contribute to technical reports, design documentation, and operational guidelines.
  • Provide feedback on design reviews, quality control, and safety measures.
  • Support construction planning and site activities, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Oversee project implementation according to mechanical design specifications.
  • Monitor contractor performance to meet quality, timeline, and budget goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of work progress and assist in project handover and closure.

Knowledge Building and Sharing:

  • Engage with engineering communities to share knowledge and best practices.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers on technical matters.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with two years of experience (Master’s degree preferred).

Experience:

  • At least two years of experience in mechanical design engineering.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and related software is essential.
  • Familiarity with UNOPS/UN protocols is a plus.

Languages:

  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Pashto and Dari is an asset.
