Job Description:

The Field Officer will be responsible for overseeing daily operations and implementing project activities on the ground. This role involves working closely with social mobilizers, local communities, and stakeholders to ensure the smooth delivery of services, fostering community participation, and making sure activities align with project goals. The position requires hands-on management, field monitoring, and quick problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Implementation:

 - Supervise the setup and operation of the project in designated locations.

 - Ensure all activities are carried out according to the project plan and timeline.

 - Assist the community in managing and sustaining the project in line with RPOA's objectives.

 

Field Monitoring and Supervision:

 - Conduct regular field visits to monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project.

 - Ensure compliance with hygiene standards, safety protocols, and project guidelines.

 - Provide on-site technical support and guidance to staff and volunteers.

 

Community Engagement and Support:

 - Collaborate with social mobilizers to involve local communities in the project.

 - Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders and stakeholders.

 - Ensure active participation of community members in managing and operating the project.

 

- Coordination and Reporting:

 - Work closely with project staff, including the Project Manager and Social Mobilizers, to ensure smooth implementation.

 - Submit regular reports on field activities, challenges, and successes to the Project Manager.

 - Ensure timely data collection and submit reports on budget use, project outputs, and community feedback.

 

- Capacity Building:

 - Support training initiatives for staff and volunteers in food preparation, hygiene, and management practices.

 - Ensure effective knowledge transfer to community members for long-term project sustainability.

 

-Problem-Solving and Conflict Resolution:

 - Address any issues or conflicts that arise during project implementation.

 - Collaborate with local communities to find solutions and promote cooperation.

 

- Compliance and Documentation:

 - Ensure all activities comply with RPOA’s financial, administrative, and operational guidelines.

 - Maintain accurate records of project activities.

 

Job Requirements:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a related field.

- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in field operations, preferably with national or international NGOs in community-based projects or food security initiatives.

- Skills:

 - Strong leadership and project management abilities.

 - Experience in community engagement and mobilization.

 - Knowledge of food security, nutrition, and community development practices.

 - Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

 - Ability to work under pressure and in remote areas.

 - Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- **Language Proficiency:** Fluency in Pashto and/or Dari, with a good command of English.

- **Travel Requirements:** Willingness to travel frequently to field locations, including remote and rural areas.
