Responsibilities:

In this role, you'll need to show patience, empathy, and respect in your interactions with people, using strong communication skills to listen attentively and manage crowds effectively. Being knowledgeable about the project is crucial so you can provide accurate and timely information to those seeking help at the Help Desks.

 

You'll also be responsible for keeping information confidential, carefully documenting cases while protecting sensitive data. You’ll be trained to use digital tools (like tablets or laptops) for managing intake, escalating, and resolving cases. Additionally, you’ll receive training on WFP’s Complaint Feedback Mechanism (CFM) and learn how to prioritize, escalate, and close cases in an organized way.

 

Your duties may vary, and you’ll be expected to take on additional tasks as needed, depending on the situation.

 

Skills/Competencies:

- Building strong relationships with authorities and local leaders will be key, along with excellent communication skills in Pashto and/or Dari.

- You'll need good analytical and decision-making skills, and the ability to adapt and work in culturally diverse environments.

- Managing time well and prioritizing tasks will help you succeed, especially in high-pressure situations.

- Integrity, independence, and taking initiative are important traits for this role.

- You should be comfortable with MS Office and internet tools, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

- A good grasp of humanitarian principles, standards, and frameworks is essential.

 

Requirements of job:

- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field is required.

- You should have at least 3 years of experience working with authorities and local leaders in sensitive environments.

- Experience working in remote rural areas is necessary, with district-level experience being a bonus.

- You’ll need to be willing to travel to local districts as part of WASSA’s field team.

- Prior experience with international organizations or non-governmental organizations is essential.
