Job Description

Job Details:

The Clinic Midwife is responsible for providing individual counseling to women and adolescents, offering contraceptive methods, delivering Antenatal SBA and postnatal care services, and making appropriate referrals. The midwife is also expected to administer vaccination services and provide nutrition services to eligible children and mothers. Additionally, they will offer basic counseling on mental health/psychosocial issues and provide information to clients on RMNCAH, family planning, HIV/AIDS prevention, psychosocial support, nutrition, and EPI services in the FHH.

 

Main duties and responsibilities:

1. Prepare, organize, and deliver fixed immunization and OPV vaccine services for women and children in the FHH, adhering to specified standards and national EPI policy, and manage the cold chain system.

2. Actively contribute and coordinate with CHWs, FHH staff, and EPI vaccination campaigns, as required.

3. Provide psychosocial and mental health counseling and support to girls and women.

4. Prepare and submit monthly activity reports using available platforms, registers, tally sheets, vaccine consumption reports, and KOBO tools.

5. Screen children, conduct anthropometric measurements, detect, treat, refer, and follow up on malnourished children according to nutrition SOP.

6. Conduct counseling on maternal infant and young child nutrition (MIYCN) practices.

7. Timely reporting of activities during duty to the technical manager.

8. Provide ANC, PNC, delivery, and family planning services in the absence of the midwife or assist the midwife when free.

 

Requirements:

1. Afghan citizenship.

2. Graduation from an Institute of Health Science (HIS) or CME.

3. Minimum of one-year clinical work experience or completion of midwifery school with a diploma certified by the MoPH.

4. Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking local languages, with basic knowledge of English language writing and speaking.

5. Basic knowledge of computer programs (Ms Word, Ms Excel).

6. Flexibility, positive attitude, and ability to work under pressure.

7. Ability to travel around the country.

8. Effective use of information technology.
