About Us

Azizi Bank (www.azizibank.af) is a leading commercial bank in Afghanistan, established under the licensing policy of Da Afghanistan Bank, the country’s central bank. The bank received its license on June 13, 2006, and began operations the same day. Founded by Mr. Mirwais Azizi of the Azizi Hotak Group & Family, it embodies Afghan vision and entrepreneurial spirit.

As the largest lender in Afghanistan, Azizi Bank accounts for approximately 40% of the loans disbursed across various sectors, including infrastructure development, transmission lines, and optical fibers. The bank is committed to financial inclusion and holds the top position in the country in terms of the number of depositors.

The management team combines youthful energy with seasoned experience, supported by a well-trained and dynamic workforce dedicated to transforming banking in Afghanistan. With over 1,750 employees, including a 14% female workforce, Azizi Bank is actively contributing to women’s empowerment. Significant investments have been made in infrastructure and technology to provide a modern and customer-friendly banking experience that meets international standards.

The bank operates 76 branches and 4 extension counters, playing a key role in fostering a banking culture in Afghanistan. It has a network of 100 ATMs across Kabul and major provinces, all integrated under a Core Banking system with a centralized database. By the end of December 2020, Azizi Bank aimed to expand its ATM network to 200, solidifying its position as the leader in ATM services in Afghanistan. Together with its subsidiary, the Islamic Bank of Afghanistan (formerly Bakhtar Bank), the group boasts over 145 branches, making it the largest banking network in the country.
