About Us

Islamic Relief Worldwide (IRW) is an international humanitarian organization headquartered in Birmingham, UK. It operates as a non-profit, non-governmental entity and holds consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council. IRW is also a signatory to the Code of Conduct for International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movements and NGOs in Disaster Relief. Active in Afghanistan for over 23 years, Islamic Relief has delivered emergency aid and implemented transformative development initiatives to support the country’s most vulnerable populations. Since establishing its first office in Afghanistan in 1999, the organization has provided assistance in areas such as emergency relief, food security, livelihoods, education, healthcare, nutrition, shelter, orphan sponsorship, and seasonal Ramadan and Qurbani programs.
