Founded in 2002, Kardan University is Afghanistan's first and largest private university. Kardan University currently provides high-quality, internationally recognized education to over 8,000 students in disciplines such as business, law, IT, and civil engineering across its campuses.

In 2013, the university received the prestigious 'Top Performer Award' from Afghanistan's Ministry of Higher Education, reflecting its outstanding reputation. The Ministry also formally granted Kardan University its university status. Notably, Kardan is the only institution in Afghanistan and the broader region to achieve candidacy status with the IACBE (International Accreditation Council for Business Education), a respected global accreditation body.
